spyware sucks

tirsdenI'm currently fighting Spydeleter, a horrid little program that attaches itself to Internet Explorer and shows up under the Tools menu as a button that says "Your PC is infected with Spyware - click here to fix your PC". Hmmm, ya THINK I've got spyware? The morons ARE spyware. And I've heard that if you actually go buy the anti-spyware product they are trying to sell, it screws up your system and fubars Internet Explorer entirely. Nice eh? Oh yeah and the guy running the show is a con artist and has a prison record for drugs and crap. Loverly.
I think I finally got rid of the begin2search.com bar, that's another fun one. Not. I also had part of the CoolWebSearch virus... which reminds me, I need to update AVG. I also need to finish updating Windows 2000, that's probably one main reason I got this garbage in the first place... because the critical updates aren't done yet. Grr. It's not like I have all the time in the world, or a dependable ISP!! Stupid Juno.
Anyways, I've found a lot of help at http://www.spywarewarriors.com forums, and I will probably end up posting my case there once Win2K is completely updated.
