the joys of upgrading an operating system

Well, in order to get back online I had to uninstall the modem in this machine and grab the new one I had bought for myself, because it was the only one with Windows 2000 drivers available without going online (which I obviously couldn't do as the old modem wouldn't work). I have to reinstall a bunch of other stuff too, including Juno, for which I am currently downloading the better version of the software (again). Seems like I just did all this a month or two ago.

I also have to reinstall the printer, which probably means surfing the net to find updated drivers. Some other programs are also currently "broken" but AIM and Semagic work ;) and I'm obviously online at this time.
