tirsden: a creepy child swings on a creepy swing (Default)
Well, Dad was on the PC all day yesterday once I got kicked off, so the 3D card is still sitting in its box. I read some of Nicole Kidman's biography and eventually passed out. But before that, I spent hours shelling and deveining about four pounds of prawns (jumbo shrimp, for you lay people *hehee*). I made up my own sauce for them based loosely on something I saw on Food Network earlier that day. It was sorta sweet and sour, had a bit of a burn to it after a while. Something about lots of horseradish and this wasabi stuff that Mom and I can eat that probably has more mayo in it than wasabi but whatever. Yummy!!! Was worth killing my back and my knees (I had to kneel in front of the sink to do the veining lol).

Uh. Yeah. I watched a lot of Food Network and posted a new dream on my dream journal. Check it out... death and mayhem, bwahahahaaa... *hic*

OH!! And I do believe we're getting FIOS finally. Mom kept forgetting to ask Dad. I think even my computer will be getting online with the deal too. Yay! Crap... my case is currently sitting on the floor open waiting for me to fix my darn hardware conflict... oopth. Welp, I've found something else to do today. o_O;;

Okay. Apparently just because you buy a GEForce doesn't mean it's going to be a good card. The GEForce4 MX 4000 is a piece of crap. IF you buy the EVGA version (since when has there been more than one version of the same exact GEForce out there? GRRRR). There's some other version that is better and made by some other company. And it's called the same thing (GEForce4 MX 4000) except that the box is different. Anyways, after spending 45 mins to download brand new DX9.0c compatible drivers from EVGA's support page, the card still won't play LEGO Star Wars. Why? Cuz it needs something called "Pixel Shader." And it doesn't have it. Or so says the game. I suppose I could uninstall and reinstall the game but I don't see the point.

Mind you, the system requirements on the game are right on target for this computer, except it wants a 32 meg 3D card that supports Pixel Shader. The game recommends an Nvidia card (aka GEForce series). So tell me, if there is a 32 meg card out there that supports Pixel Shader, why the hell doesn't a 128 meg card support it by default!?

*runs off screaming insanely*
