Meeeeooowww <3
May. 6th, 2006 08:59 amKittttttyyyyyyyyy!!! She's meowing up in the kitchen right now lol ("omg nobody is paying direct attention to me I am gonna diiiiieeee"). We got her yesterday thru an animal rescue charity that happened to be at Pets-Mart. The first two kittens we looked at were much younger and didn't like being turned up side down and were inclined to bite and scratch. Then I tried this older one and she plopped right into my arms upside down and purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Instant kitty. She's a calico, I think they call her color type "ginger" but not sure, bright orange and white and black. She has a little black spot that looks like a beauty mark to the right of her nose (her right).
I told Mom about what
l_u_d_g_e said about letting the cat be around for a day or two and see if a name appears from the cat's personality. We were running so late after Pets-Mart that we ended up at Peter's school waiting for him to get out. I had the cat out of her carrying box (completely docile in my arms purrrrrrrrrrrr) and I thought, "Hmm... Candy." Mom seconded the idea. Peter: "I LIKE THAT NAME!" Alyssa: "Candeh candeh candehhhhh!" So by the time Dad got home, kitty had a name and a serious attention whore attitude LOL. But she's also verrrry loving and pretty easy going. She can't be declawed due to the contract Mom signed with the rescue people, but they also said that cats that are declawed tend to end up biting.

Other than that I'm out of it for entirely new reasons. I tried melatonin last night to see if it'd help me sleep. My new therapist Amy recommended 3mg at dinner, 3 more an hour before bed, and 3 more right as I'm going to bed. Mom and I thought that might be a little strong since I'm super-sensitive to medications so she got me 1mg pills (I could always take 3 of them if 1 meg doses didn't do the trick). Well, yesterday being a rather chaotic schedule I ended up taking 1mg about an hour before bed and 1mg more as I crawled into it. I may actually have slept through the entire 8 hours without waking (not entirely sure) but it was very hard to get up and now I feel all... alll.... ...and I thought I couldn't think yesterday. Yeesh. Who's smart idea was it to introduce chemicals to an already screwed-up system anyways, eh? I'm going to some flea markets and yard sales with Mom shortly so I'll see how well I function.
