take THAT, piece of crap Dell box!
Sep. 18th, 2005 02:39 amI call it a Dell box because it wasn't even a barebones system... no hard drive, no memory. It did have a motherboard with the usual smattering of Dell onboard junk, drivers for all of which installed right off my Win98 disk except for the network card. Which isn't an issue because my kid sister isn't gonna have internet anyways, and that's who the finished puter is for. I've had the hard drive and RAM now for a couple days and finally got around to braving the installs. Dude... that thing has a massive heatsink/fan over the CPU. Massive. o_o
Kid sister's "new" *cough* used *cough* system specs:
P2 400
256 megs RAM
40 GB hard drive
4 meg RAGE ATI 3D card
Windows 98
Oooh... she can run Tomb Raider II... LOL... so ubah. I haven't tried anything harder on it yet, I don't think it even has DirectX but I'm too tired to care now. Just finished installing bunches of software and copying a bazillion MP3's and hmmm maybe I'll try American McGee's Alice on it tomorrow. Either way I'll get DX 7 or something on there from one of my game disks and see what dxdiag says about her system (Edit: heh, I figured out what video card it has... funnee). Which she named Stewie after the baby on Family Guy. LOL. Yeah.
Zzz....
