- Day 34 -
Afternoon: Wakes up and is taken to the Courtyard where he meets Takaya [![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
forgot_my_life] and learns that superheroes do claim to be in the Institute, and have communicated via a message board. He goes to read the board in the Sun Room and finds Statesman's message about heroes, among other things. Ironically, he just misses Statesman's [zeus_incarnate] arrival and States doesn't notice him and is distracted talking to (Doctor Who) [timedork]. Justin realizes Statesman is in the same room and determinedly ignores him, staying glued to the message board (which has enough bad news as it is). Lord Recluse [tartaros_avatar] sees Justin just as the shift ends but the archer remains clueless to that fact.
Dinner: Is escorted back to his room for dinner and talks to his strange roommate Tanaka [violent_varmint]. Justin finds his superhero costume in the dresser, which causes added confusion but he's happy to have it. He trashes some of his side of the room for impromptu weapons and other useful items.
Nightshift: Spends a little more time preparing in his room, Tanaka having already left, before heading out through the halls (here and here) without using his flashlight. He ends up finding Lord Recluse behind him by unhappy surprise (and pure luck on the archvillain's part). This conversation does not go over well for the archer, with Recluse's words doing more damage than the archer would like to admit (though he has yet to properly process this). He also learns Statesman has made a truce with Recluse and leaves, refusing the offer of a blade. In the Rec Field he spots (Rose) [got_the_bronze] and (Peter Petrelli) [human_sponge] having issues, but doesn't jump into the situation until he knows better what is going on, and ends up seeing Statesman appear with (Peter Parker) [a_spider_can] and (Harry Osmond) [littlegoblinjr]. Manticore realises (Rose) is only making her situation more difficult and manages to override his hero complex so he can talk to Statesman. (He notices the issue with (Rose) clear but doesn't recognize that it's (Doctor Who) who saved the day in that respect.) Take equal parts "wtf", *facepalm*, and mental angst. Shake well. Serve. Ironically, things worked out so Justin was able to deal with his current list of issues and sort of patch things up with his boss.

Morning: Field trip to Doyleton day, Manticore starts out on the second bus with Statesman to talk things over more. Once they arrive at Magnus Park in town, Wolverine [ol_canucklehead] approaches States and it's obvious he needs to talk, so Justin leaves the two alone and wanders off down Main Street where he meets TK-622 [loyal_soldier]. They have a bit of conversation and... that is the last we see of Manticore in Landel's (as played by me, anyways).
