I dunno who might see this, beyond my friends and any stalkers I don't know about (hiya bwahaha) and maybe one person on the "recent LJ posts page" if I'm really lucky... but this is a cause that is worthy of your hard earned monies. They're doing well on the donations, but they've still got a good chunk to go. And it's guilt trip time: even broke, incomeless me donated (I discovered I actually had a few bucks in checking, w00t!). You can do it too! You know you want to! ♥

Edit: Wow, they cleared the entire debt! Looks like there's some still piling on (wouldn't it be nice if they made a decent profit). Hopefully they learned their lesson this time around and won't get jacked by the convention center next year.

I've heard of convention centers overcharging for events through my connection with IEEE. My understanding is that it's not uncommon practice, and the conference organizers usually contest the bill.

Well it looks like it woulda destroyed the people in charge if this had gone down badly. But it looks like they are kicking ass on the donations. ^_^
