Yahoo Mail beta
Sep. 15th, 2006 12:41 amI like it! If anyone is looking for a new mail service I highly suggest trying the new Yahoo Mail beta version. It's free and you get like 1gb of space to store email (I have used a whopping 4% since I joined with my main account and half of that is from mailing myself large graphic-laden zip files recently). Anyways, the whole thing is better organized and optimized for high-speed internet (I imagine the fanciness would lag on a low-end computer and/or internet connection). I know several of my friends are already using Yahoo but if you chose to stay with the pre-beta version I suggest checking out the beta anyways, you can always switch back.
Plus you can add blogs as RSS feeds and the RSS feeds folder will have a shiny little sun on it when there's new posts. I added Luddite Geek since he's over at Blogger.com, and it works great. From catching up on reading his posts I present you with the following priceless quote:
"I'm not queer or anything, but I really want to invite my buddies over for a shower."

Date: Sep. 15th, 2006 04:07 pm (UTC)I like Yahoo Mail, too. They only recently increased it to 1GB when Google came out with Gmail. But I like Yahoo Mail better than GMail.
The problem with Gmail is that it will block lots of messages that have attachments. I once tried ZIPping the contents of a directory at work so I could copy it to my home computer, synchronize my two computers. But I never even got it. With Yahoo, there's no such problem.
Of course, you might say that this is a problem with Yahoo because it won't protect you from malicious attachments. So maybe if you're a newbie, use Gmail. If you're a power user, go with Yahoo. Yeah.
BTW, I haven't dissed Gmail on my blog, which is hosted by Google. I thought about it. But I don't believe in "biting the hand that feeds me."
